What have past participants said about their experience in CDI?
Participant feedback on CDI has been overwhelmingly positive. Overall, participants rated the 2008, 2010, and 2011 Institutes 4.88, 4.93, and 4.76 (on a 5-point scale), respectively, and 100% of participants said they would recommend CDI to a colleague. Respresentative comments include the following:
This is by far the best teaching workshop I have ever attended. The content was interesting and the instructors really practiced what they preached with respect to learning techniques. (2011)
This [Institute] allowed me to think deeply about the reasons for teaching my classes—and ultimately, the reasons I became a teacher. (2010)
In two words: [the CDI experience was] life-altering. This may seem overblown, but it is 100% true. I came in thinking I had a handle on my course, but realized very soon I needed to go back to the drawing board. The result is exponentially improved. (2011)
[The Institute] has given me tools to help me better fulfill my learning goals, keep my teaching fresh, effective & interesting. (2008)
I emerged from the Institute having a much richer sense of the possibilities and the types of bonds that can be forged between my students and the subjects they study. (2008)
It was so interesting to learn from other participants in other fields, and the inherent interdisciplinarity of the [Institute] is very stimulating! (2008)
[A]nyone from novice to experienced teachers would benefit from attending. (2010)

What have students said about their experience in CDI-designed courses?
This class has given me a completely different perception of the world around me. It has taught me a new way to view everything I encounter.
This class really made me think in ways I never thought I would have and opened my eyes to different kinds of learning that, gasp, one might even begin to call fun.
