Avoiding Death by PowerPoint
Hugh Crumley, Instructional Technology Specialist, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Education, Duke University

PowerPoint has great potential to support an interactive, engaging presentation and provide useful visual aids. As you may well know, it also has the potential to bore and pacify audiences. In this workshop, we will first examine specific suggestions from research on multimedia learning. Then, we will look at how to go about doing a presentation “makeover” that incorporates these principles.

A handout describing the salient points of Mr. Crumley's workshop is found here.

Sponsored by the Teaching Resource Center's Tomorrow's Professor Today Program.
