Making the Most of Diversity

Moderator: Milton Adams, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs; Professor of Biomedical Engineering

We argue that having a diverse student body enriches education. And we have at U.Va. a group of students who are increasingly diverse in many ways. So how can we go beyond simply accommodating the diversity of our students in our classrooms and courses to making that diversity an enriching experience that improves their learning? Vice Provost Milton Adams will kick off the discussion, and we look to participants for both tried-and-true and innovative strategies for engaging all students, as well as for questions and directions we might pursue in the future. This session will be structured so that colleagues may join the discussion at any point.
