Professors as Writers and Researchers in STEM

Faculty in science, technology, engineering, and math are invited to a discussion about grant writing, research resources and collaborations with these colleagues:

José Fuentes, Associate Professor, Environmental Sciences
Carla Green, Associate Professor, Biology
Jeffrey Plank, Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies

Carla Green and José Fuentes will share their experiences with getting their research started when they first arrived at U.Va. Topics include building a viable research agenda, writing successful grants, and developing productive collaborations with colleagues inside and outside the University. Jeffrey Plank will speak about research resources available at U.Va. The speakers will focus on issues relevant to new faculty, although participants with a range of publishing experience are welcome.

Sponsored by the Excellence in Diversity Fellows Program, a program supporting new U.Va. faculty, and the Professors as Writers Program, both at the Teaching Resource Center.
