Teaching Critical Thinking I - Introductory Workshop

If we believe that the fundamental purpose of a college education is to learn how to think, we should incorporate critical thinking into courses across the curriculum. Most of us want students to think critically about the subject matter, but we often use a trial-and-error approach to developing strategies for teaching thinking skills. In this introductory workshop, participants will learn the distinctions between categories of thinking skills, explore the strategies used in critical thinking, and identify teaching approaches that facilitate the development of higher-order thinking.
