TRC/POD Graduate Student Intern Natalie Perry is a doctoral student in Higher Education at the Curry School. Prior to her doctoral studies, Natalie was a high school social studies teacher. The experiences she had teaching in urban classrooms informed her decision to pursue a PhD in Higher Education. Her research explores institutional factors and policies that contribute toward the success of underrepresented student groups on predominantly white campuses. In the Curry School, she currently TAs a course on multicultural education. Natalie is the Vice President of UVa's Black Graduate and Professional Student Organization and a member of the Graduate Student Diversity Advisory Board. In her free time she enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, exercising, and exploring Charlottesville. Natalie is excited to join the center as the TRC/POD Graduate Student Intern and looks forward to exploring opportunities in faculty/TA instructional development.
