Ryan
Emanuel is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Environmental Sciences.
His research focuses on the exchange of water vapor, carbon dioxide, and
energy between land surfaces and the atmosphere. Ryan conducts fieldwork
at U.Va.'s Blandy Experimental Farm, where he has also mentored undergraduate
researchers. He has also served as a laboratory instructor for physical
hydrology and is a recent recipient of the Fred Holmsley Moore Teaching
Award and the GTA Award in his department. When not at school or in the
field, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife, Cayce, his baby daughter,
Laurel, and his dog, Ashby.
