Teaching at the University of Virginia would not be the handbook it is without the insights and editorial help of many people: those faculty and teaching assistants who authored sections, shared ideas, and wrote the reflections on teaching that provided most of the quotations; the many administrators who gave invaluable support and information; the friends, colleagues, and businesses who helped with design, photos, and final editing.
