Tips
on Cooperative Learning
Further comments
and suggestions from faculty who use cooperative learning techniques in
their classes were raised at our December 4, 1992 luncheon:
- Check with
students about how much time they spend on the course. In our experience,
they find that group projects involve relatively heavy workloads, yet
they rarely complain about this or ask for work reductions.
- If group
work includes peer editing of others' papers or essays, it may be best
to ask students to comment only on content unless you are certain of
their grammar skills.
